Pertaining to Myself

Although the rumors of my peers may have caused me some initial anxiety about your classes, after seeing firsthand your philosophies I can tell I'm going to love this class! For the past four years I've come to realize precisely what you described about our world, roles within it, and life in general, and I cannot tell you the joy it brings me to see people listening to such wisdom.

You don't happen to like Fight Club do you?

Here, have a poem I wrote:
And so you mean to tell me this is how we're s'posed to live,
Workin' jobs we hate to keep buyin' all their shit,
And we all like to think that one day we'll all be free,
When the truth is that we'll all be enslaved by their greed!

And you see efficient cars? They're all made overseas,
And you see the people talkin' 'bout the fashion magazines,
And they'll all try to tell you that none of you are worthy,
When it's the ads that really deserve the controversy!

And they do so well keeping us all confused,
And they try so hard to keep us all amused,
And it's all just to keep their secret hid away,
That you pay the same people who make you work here everyday!

And no it's not the guv'nor, or the law, or the police,
It's the fact that these days men act more just like machines,
And it's not the money, cars or girls that they flaunt,
It's the corporations everyday who give us what we want.

Really meant to be a beat-poem, but there you go.
Hmm... 28 words to go.

Please don't take me as a bare minimum kind of guy, but I like to define my scope, y'know?
I was born in Blyth, moved to Goderich 6 years ago and since I've come to the same conclusion as you have;
The majority of humanity does not enjoy their own mental capacity.
But I manage to make do. I like games of all kinds. Video, war, board, role-playing, you name it.
I have an affinity for technology, I'm an amateur computer programmer, and I'm aiming for a spot in nanotechnology at University of Waterloo. Because of such aspirations I'll probably be hunting a 90 on assignments/tests/overall for the course, and I'm quite willing to do the work required for such marks.
I also enjoy the thought of the singularity.

I also like filmy stuff: check out a grade 8 film project of mine:
I also did the editing and filming for this:

And this:

Feel free to critique/comment.
Finally, I like all forms of arts, music especially, although I haven't invested much time into producing it myself.

Basically I like anything that isn't getting mindlessly drunk, high, or otherwise intoxicated (getting mindfully intoxicated however...).

But above all, I like ideas.

P.S. And synonyms; A quality of the English language that makes it equally redeemable as baneful.

P.P.S.

Gee, that ended up WAY longer than we both wanted it.

tl;dr I'm an intellectual type, I want a 90%, I liked your intro, and I'm probably going to enjoy this class.
