Thesis Statement: Lady Macbeth is not evil, merely a victim to her insecurities and flaws
1st Paragraph
-She is insecure
-She sees it fit to deceive Macbeth into thinking she is powerful, when she truly does not have the resolve to do the deeds she speaks of
-This is because some of her needs (Maslow's) are not being met
2nd Paragraph
-This insecurity is in her inferior female status
-She frequently mentions discarding her femininity for power
-She links power with masculinity
-She wants to be masculine
-This insecurity threatens are freedom/safety needs
-She thus strives for the highest female position possible; Queen
3rd Paragraph
-This insecurity drives her to her death
-The events she puts into motion were so she could gain control
-But when Macbeth came into power, she lost this control
-Unable to deal with her failure, she exhibits many traits of stress (ie sleepwalking), and eventually kills herself
Conclusion
-In another time, she would have been a leader in women's suffrage
-In her barbaric society, however, she becomes selfish and attempts to gain control for herself
-Thus, this selfishness and the background that gave her her insecurities are truly to blame; Were it not for her influence the witches prophecies would have been useless against Macbeth
